Inland Island returns with "Song of Niagara", a long-form folk art music collection about place. Recorded during peach season in August 2020 on a Marantz cassette deck, Avalon Tassonyi plays their first guitar in an uninsulated wood cabin, archiving childhood memories, the lives of relatives since departed, and tall tales, carving out a transient space between fiction and non-fiction. Featuring several tracks that would later end up on "Candlelightning" (2023), "Song of Niagara" works as a deep cuts/b-sides companion piece to that record. Devotional lo-fi demos for the sake of the song, to perhaps be one day re-recorded, perhaps not. Canned for three years, now ripe for the picking.
